SOLARIS
Everybody can reach it in a different manner, sometimes you can see it through an empty gaze or starring into a void, which in effect is a concentration of thoughts towards the inside - then you are on the path! You can call it daydreaming, letting go or slipping away...
My observations are concentrated on the moment of moving past a stage of limitation and the process of change that comes with it. Comparable to the solarisation process in photography where you can reach the reversal of ’blackness’ through over exposing, leaving the known, we as well find a negation. From the outside not much change is apparent, but being in different spaces requires particular forms of diversion.
Six black and white photographs of the 11 piece series Solaris show which forms that could be. Moments of change in a seemingly depicted surrounding appear familiar on first impression. The more unusual associations become, the more you have to regard every picture as the fragment of a mirror in which you can see a spark of a very personal abyss.
